WHAT WE DID: 4/28 & 4/29

  • Students spent time in the library researching information for their college fair project. The college fair project is due on May 31st. The college fair is June 1st.
  • Pecha Kucha presentations continued. Topics of the day included Tahiti and more than you could ever hope to know about Kylie Jenner and her line of lip products, Star Wars, movie genres from 1970 to the present the themes of Disney animated movies, and the history of Disneyland.
  • Students read/annotated two articles in “A Day in the Life of a College Student” in preparation for the upcoming ERWC writing assignment. ERWC Activity #19

WHAT WE DID: 4/25 & 4/26

  • Pecha Kucha presentations included: game systems through the decades, Disneyland, NBA basketball, Peyton Manning, the world’s most dangerous animals, international concepts of beauty, and more.
  • Students began literature circles and in-class reading logs.
  • Students went on a fresh-air-stretch-your-legs stroll.
  • Students read “A Day In the Life” Article #1 and were introduced to the upcoming writing assignment.

WHAT WE DID: 4/22

  • Students presented articles #3, #4, & #5 to the class, which took notes.
  • Pecha Kucha presentations continued. We heard about computer viruses, the Balearic Islands of Spain, Chick Fil-A, and skateboarding.

WHAT WE DID: 4/21

  • Students continued to present Pecha Kucha projects. A few of the topics presented include: camping, wrestling, Walt Disney, Zacatecas, Muhammad Ali, and 80’s band Duran Duran.
  • Students who read ERWC articles #1 and #2 reported to the class, which took copious notes. One article discussed the culture-shock some students go through when first attending college. The other debated whether or not a college degree is necessary or even worth cost.

WHAT WE DID: 4/20

Students worked ferociously to finish their ERWC poster presentations which will be given Thursday and Friday. Great job, kids! Rock on!!
