Honors Night is always an exciting yet bittersweet evening, for it marks the end of the school year and a farewell to the 8th graders. This year’s Honors Night was no different. I am delighted to know so many of the 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5 semester scholars and extremely proud of every one of their accomplishments. Yet, seeing all of those smiling faces so full of hope for the future and hearts anxious to begin the next chapter made me a little weepy. Since 1989, I have welcomed in the Fall and said good-bye in the Spring to so many amazing students who go on to become amazing adults. And, I know that once these students turn the new page in their book, they will not look back.
Right now is, but it will never be again. So, to the scholars in the class of 2016, I wish you all the best life has to offer, and may you make a difference in the lives of others through your kindness, hard work, efficacy (look it up), and sense of justice. Cheers!
