    • Literary Terms – QUIZ THURSDAY
      • Simile: A comparison between two unlike objects using “like” or “as”
      • Metaphor: A comparison between two unlike objects not using “like” or “as”
      • Alliteration: Same sound at the beginning of words (ex. Joyful Jane jumped jokingly in January.)
      • Onomatopoeia: Words that imitate sound (buzz, boom, bang, clash, clang)
      • Repetition: Words or phrases that are repeated over and over again
      • Stanza: Group of lines/verses
      • Verse: Line in a poem
      • Hyperbole: Exaggeration
      • Rhyme: Words that have the same ending sound (hat/cat; boy/toy; flower/tower)
