Hi, I’m Karin Warzybok. Welcome to my webpage! I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself. I have been teaching English for DUSD since 1989. I’ve always taught middle school because I really like kids at this age. I started at Griffiths Middle School, and then in 1996, I transferred to Sussman.
I graduated from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff with a degree in English. I earned my single subject credential in English from Cal State University, Long Beach. And, I have a master’s degree in language and literacy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
When I am not teaching, I love to read. Some of my favorite books are: Each Little Bird That Sings, To Kill A Mockingbird, Anne of Green Gables, and A Tree Grows In Brooklyn. I also love to travel. A few of the places I have visited include National Parks in the U.S., Vermont, NYC, Mexico, and the Cook Islands. This summer, I had the opportunity to explore Paris and three cities in Italy, and over Winter Break, I went to Cambria for the first time where I got to see elephant seals and their newborn “pups.”
I enjoy cooking (and eating), growing things (like fruit trees and gardenias), the ballet, Broadway musicals, shopping for bargains and vintage items such as hats, seeing a good movie, helping other people, singing in my church’s gospel choir, hanging out with friends, playing Scrabble, snorkeling and swimming in the ocean, laughing, and Sunday afternoon naps.
I love dogs! I have four!! All of them have been rescued from a shelter, the street, or a harmful home. They are all mutts except for one who is a Yorkshire terrier. My dogs’ names are Ruby, Pearl, Theo, and Jasper, and they are very cute and cuddly.
I hope you find the information on my website helpful. Have a great day, and thanks for visiting!
