About Me

Hi, I’m Karin Warzybok. Welcome to my webpage! I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself. I have been teaching English for DUSD since 1989. I’ve taught at Griffiths and Sussman, and now I am a teacher at Columbus.

I graduated from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff with a degree in English. I earned my single subject credential in English from Cal State University, Long Beach. And, I have a master’s degree in language and literacy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

When I am not teaching, I love to read. Some of my favorite books are Each Little Bird That Sings, To Kill A Mockingbird, Anne of Green Gables, and A Tree Grows In Brooklyn.

I also love to travel. I’ve been fortunate enough to visit many states and national parks here in the U.S. Outside of the U.S, my travels have taken me to the Cook Islands, different parts of Mexico, Paris, and four cities in Italy.

I enjoy cooking (and eating), growing things (like fruit trees and gardenias), the ballet, Broadway musicals, shopping for bargains and vintage items such as hats, seeing a good movie, helping other people, singing in my church’s gospel choir, hanging out with friends, playing Scrabble, snorkeling and swimming in the ocean, laughing, and Sunday afternoon naps.

I love dogs! I have four!! All of them have been rescued from a shelter, the street, or a harmful home. They are all mutts, except for one who is a Yorkshire terrier. My dogs’ names are Ruby, Pearl, Theo, and Jasper, and they are very cute and cuddly.

I hope you find the information on my website helpful. Have a great day, and thanks for visiting!
